The field of 16 at the Little League® Baseball World Series is down to its final four teams, with the one-game playoffs for the United States and International Championships set to decide the two teams that will meet for the 2017 LLBWS World Championship.
Many traditions are born in baseball and tend to die hard once they become part of the game. For one international team in this year’s Little League® Baseball World Series, they are simply carrying on a recurring custom over the last several years.
The 71st Little League Baseball® World Series begins on Thursday, Aug. 17, in South Williamsport, Pa. There are 16 teams, eight U.S. Region teams and eight teams from International Regions, competing for this year’s Little League Baseball World Series Championship.
Guadalupe Treviño Kelly Little League from Tamaulipas emerged victorious at the 2017 Mexico Region Little League Baseball® Championship in Sabinas Coahula, Mexico, defeating Matamoros Little League, 3-1, on Friday, July 21.
