West Region Shuts Out Northwest Region, 9-0

West defeated Northwest 9-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Bryan Ramirez induced a fly out from Hayden Lomeli to finish off the game.

Joey Gray led West to victory by driving in five runs. He went 2-for-2 at the plate. Joey drove in runs on a grand slam in the first and a single in the third.

West captured the lead in the first inning. With one out in the first inning Joey drove in four runs when he homered.

West scored four runs in the fifth inning. West's big inning was driven by a single by Mason Kellerman, a fielder's choice by Matt Haddad, and a error.

A single by Andrew Hall in the sixth inning was a positive for Northwest.

Bobby Gray earned the win for West. He threw five and a third innings, allowing zero runs, one hit, and striking out seven. Caiden Thomsen took the loss for Northwest. He tossed four innings, allowing eight runs, six hits, and striking out six.

West collected six hits. Joey and Drew Rutter each collected multiple hits for West. Drew and Joey. West was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. A.J. Gamulao made the most plays with nine.
