Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores Little League, from Grosse Pointe, Michigan, captured the 2017 Little League Baseball® Great Lakes Regional tournament by defeating Hinsdale Little League, from Hinsdale, Illinois, 6-3.
Illinois lost the lead late in a 6-3 defeat to Michigan on Saturday. Michigan trailed 2-1 in the top of the fifth inning when Joseph Wisniewski singled off of Andres Waelter, driving in two runs.
Michigan captured the lead in the first inning. With two outs in the first inning Joey Randazzo drove in one run when he singled.

Illinois knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the second inning. Max Williams grounded out, scoring one run.
Will Pflaum earned the win for Michigan. He pitched four innings, giving up one run, two hits, and striking out four. Andres Waelter took the loss for Illinois. He threw four innings, giving up four runs, eight hits, striking out four, and walking zero.
Drew Hill started the game for Michigan. He threw two innings, surrendering two runs, two hits, and striking out three.
Andres, Max, and Jakobi Lange each drove in one run to lead Illinois.
Michigan collected ten hits. Jack Jones and Joseph Wisniewski each collected multiple hits for Michigan.
