The 71st Little League Baseball® World Series begins on Thursday, Aug. 17, in South Williamsport, Pa. There are 16 teams, eight U.S. Region teams and eight teams from International Regions, competing for this year’s Little League Baseball World Series Championship.

Region: Asia-Pacific
Little League: West Seoul Little League
Location: Seoul, South Korea
Record in Asia-Pacific Regional tournament: 4-0
LLB World Series appearance facts: Third time in the last four years, and the fifth time overall, that a team from South Korea will represent the Asia-Pacific Region at the LLBWS.
Region Championship Game: 6-1 victory over Tung Yuan Little League (Chinese Taipei).

Location: Emilia, Italy
Region championship Game: 12-2 victory over London Youth Baseball Little League (United Kingdom).

LLB World Series appearance facts: This is the second consecutive trip to Williamsport for Emilia, with some players and the manager returning from last year.

Little League: Tokyo Kitasuna Little League
Location: Tokyo, Japan
Region Championship Game: 17-0 victory over Chibashi Little League.

LLB World Series facts: This will be the sixth time overall and third time in the last four years that Tokyo Kitasuna Little League represents Japan in Williamsport; Tokyo Kitasuna has won the LLBWS three times (2011, 2012, 2015); this will be the 28th time a team from Japan has competed at the LLBWS.

LLB World Series facts: This will be the 19th appearance in Williamsport by a team from Venezuela, and the third time in the last four years; Including this year, a team from Maracaibo has made the Little League Baseball World Series 14 times dating back to 1965 and has won the world championship in both 1994 and 2000.

Little League: Guadalupe Treviño Kelly Little League
Town and state: Tamaulipas, Mexico
Region Championship Game: 3-1 victory over Matamoros Little League.

LLB World Series facts: This will be Guadalupe Treviño Kelly Little League’s second trip to Williamsport in eight years (2009); Mexico owns the distinction of being the first ever International team to win the Little League Baseball World Series (1957 behind Angel Macias’ perfect game).

LLB World Series facts: It is Lufkin Little League’s first trip to the LLBWS and the sixth time a team from Texas East has made it to Williamsport.

Town and state: Greenville, North Carolina
Region Championship Game: 8-6 victory over Peachtree City Little League from Peachtree City, Georgia.

LLB World Series facts: It will be North State Little League’s first trip to the LLBWS but the fifth time a team from North Carolina has made it to Williamsport (2 out of 5 from Greenville, N.C.).

Little League: Rancho Santa Margarita Little League
Town and state: Rancho Santa Margarita, California.
Region Championship Game: 11-7 victory over Dixie Little League, from St. George, Utah.

LLB World Series facts: This is the first time that Rancho Santa Margarita Little League has had a team advance to the LLBWS but the fifth team from Southern California since 2010.
