Japan defeated Australia 8-0 on Friday as four pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Keitaro Miyahara struck out Tom Stancic to finish off the game.

Riku Goto threw one and one-third innings. Keitaro Miyahara recorded the last two outs to earn the save for Japan. Tom Stancic took the loss for Australia. He tossed three innings, surrendering four runs, four hits, and striking out three.

Japan had 11 hits in the game. Keitaro and Seiya each collected multiple hits for Japan. Ryusei, Seiya, Rei, and Yuya Nakajima each drove in one run to lead Japan. Japan was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Seiya had the most chances in the field with ten.
