For the second-straight year, Emilia Little League from Emilia, Italy, will represent the Europe and Africa Region after defeating London Youth Baseball Little League, 12-2, on Tuesday, July 25 in the 2017 Little League Baseball® Europe and Africa Region Championship. A total of 14 teams participated in the nine-day event at Ed Piszek Stadium of the Little League Baseball European Leadership Training Center in Kutno, Poland.
This will be the third appearance for Emilia Little League in Williamsport after earning a spot in the Little League Baseball World Series in both 2008 and 2016. It is also the fourth appearance for a team from Italy after Aviano Air Base in Aviano, Italy, made the trip in 1979.

Emilia Little League finished the 2017 Little League Baseball Europe and Africa Region Tournament with a 4-0 record in an event that featured great plays, competitive games, and outstanding sportsmanship. The first-round pairings for the 2017 Little League Baseball World Series were drawn and announced on Thursday, June 15. Emilia Little League will open the tournament with a first-round matchup against the representative of the Canada Region on Thursday, August 17, at 5 p.m. Spanning the course of 10 days, 32 games will be played in the 2017 Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, culminating in the Championship Game, which is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 27.
