Central Region Wins Junior League Softball World Series Championship

WA District 9 fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 7-1 loss to Central on Saturday. Central scored on a groundout by Jackie Grisdale in the first inning, a groundout in the first inning, and a error in the second inning.

Central captured the lead in the first inning. Jackie Grisdale grounded out, scoring one run.

Central scored three runs in the fifth inning. The big inning for Central came thanks to a double by Jackie and a wild pitch.

Kaili Gross earned the win for Central. She went seven innings, giving up one run, five hits, striking out ten, and walking one. Antonia Norman took the loss for WA District 9. She tossed one inning, giving up two runs, two hits, and walking zero.

Kaci Gordon went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead WA District 9 in hits.

Central collected seven hits. Cammie Lattanzio, Brooke Bobbey, and Jackie each collected multiple hits for Central.
