Australia's effort to come back from down six runs in the fifth inning came up just short, as they fell 8-7 to Caribbean on Saturday. Australia scored five runs in the failed comeback on a double by Stephen Courtney in the fifth, a single by Harrison Wheeldon in the sixth, and a walk in the sixth.
Australia collected eight hits and Caribbean had ten in the high-scoring affair
Australia took an early lead in the first inning. Tyler Spiteri drove in one when he singled in the first inning.
Caribbean took the lead for good with six runs in the third inning. In the third there was an error, scoring one run, Edward Triunfel singled off of Harrison Wheeldon, driving in two runs, Harrison induced Dariel Salas to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Gabriel UreƱa singled off of Harrison, driving in one run, and Benny Triunfel reached on a dropped third strike.

Australia scored three runs in the sixth inning. Australia scored on a single by Harrison and a walk.
Jesus Chevalier earned the win for Caribbean. He tossed four and a third innings, allowing four runs, four hits, and striking out nine. Three relievers helped Caribbean close out the victory. Dariel threw one and one-third innings. Erick Torres recorded the last out to earn the save for Caribbean. Harrison took the loss for Australia. He threw five innings, giving up eight runs, nine hits, striking out eight, and walking zero.
Harrison led Australia with two hits in three at bats.
Jesus and Edward each collected multiple hits for Caribbean.
