White Rock-South Surrey Little League from White Rock, British Columbia, emerged victorious at the 2017 Little League Baseball® Canada Region Championship in Medicine Hat, Alberta, defeating Diamond Baseball Little League from Quebec, 12-5, on Saturday, August 12. Seven teams participated in the 10-day event in Alberta.
This will mark the fourth time overall and second time in three years that White Rock will represent the Canada Region in Williamsport after making the trip in 2015. White Rock also made back-to-back trips to the Little League Baseball World Series in 2007 and 2008.

For the first time in 2017, the Little League Baseball Canada Region Championship was broadcasted live across Canada as Little League International, Little League Canada and CBC Sports partnered together to provide fans unprecedented coverage of Canada’s road to Williamsport.

The first-round pairings for the 2017 Little League Baseball World Series were drawn and announced on Thursday, June 15. White Rock-South Surrey Little League will open up the 2017 LLBWS against Emilia Little League of the Europe and Africa Region on Thursday, August 17, at 5 p.m. Spanning the course of 10 days, 32 games will be played in the 2017 Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, culminating in the Championship Game, which is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 27.
