Southeast Region Slides into United States Championship Game

A walk-off error led Southeast past Southwest 2-1 on Wednesday. The game was tied at one with Southeast batting in the bottom of the seventh when there was an error, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Southeast pitchers struck out 14, while hurlers for Southwest sat down eight.

Southeast took an early lead in the first inning. Carson Hardee drove in one when he homered in the first inning.

In the top of the third inning, Southwest tied things up at one. Chandler Spencer hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run.

Matthew Matthijs earned the win for Southeast. He tossed four and a third innings, giving up zero runs, zero hits, striking out 12, and walking zero. Chip Buchanan took the loss for Southwest. He pitched one inning, surrendering one run, and one hit.

Chase Anderson started the game for Southeast. He pitched two and two-thirds innings, giving up one run, one hit, striking out two, and walking one. Hunter Ditsworth started the game for Southwest. He went five innings, allowing one run, six hits, striking out eight, and walking one.

Southeast had seven hits in the game. Carson and Cameron Greenway each collected multiple hits for Southeast. Cameron and Carson all had two hits to lead Southeast.

Chandler led Southwest with one run batted in. He went 0-for-3 on the day.
