North Carolina Wins Little League Baseball® Southeast Region Championship

North State Little League, from Greenville, North Carolina, captured the 2017 Little League Baseball® Southeast Regional tournament by defeating Peachtree City National Little League, from Peachtree City, Georgia, 8-6.

The game was tied at five with North Carolina batting in the bottom of the fourth when Thomas Barrett doubled off of PJ Green, driving in two runs.

North Carolina collected six hits and Georgia had nine in the high-scoring affair.

Georgia LL took an early lead in the first inning. Garrett Arrington drove in one when he tripled in the first inning.

North Carolina took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth there was an error, scoring one run.

North Carolina scored five runs in the second inning. The big inning was thanks to a home run by Bryce Jackson and a double by Carson Hardee.

Home runs for Georgia came when Kaleb Cost homered in the first inning and Trey King homered in the third and fifth innings.

Matthew Matthijs, Drew Fields, Chase Anderson, Carson, Bryce, and Thomas Barrett each managed one hit to power North Carolina. North Carolina didn't commit a single error in the field.

Trey and Kaleb each collected multiple hits for Georgia.
